Just an update

I just wanted to update on how things have progressed. I sent my images into dr heffez in Milwaukee about 1 month ago. They made an appointment for me two weeks later. They ordered another mri and other tests. When I saw the doctor for the exam and results I was shocked to hear that I had a kinked brainstem and very distinct overcrowding of the brain. He attributed all of my symptoms to chiari with the exception of my extremely horrible hair and balance. He says some of that will probably get better with surgery but could be some underlying condition for it also. I was treated very kindly and listened to fully. And had the best experience I've ever had at a doctors office. I am currently in the process of scheduling surgery. And I'm so ready to start the next chapter in my life!  Thanks to everyone here who gave me the strength and support to continue, whether you knew it or not, your words of wisdom got me this far in my chiari journey!

No not yet. I am having issues reaching his surgery  scheduler. That would be cool but I know when I had talked to them last it was sounding like it would be in August. I wish you luck on yours and hope recovery goes well.

My surgery is scheduled for July 27th. Did you get yours scheduled yet? It would be kinda cool if it was the same day, maybe we could be surgery buddies! Haha!! But good luck to you as well and I will be thinking and praying for your positive outcome and recovery!

I saw Dr. Heffez and your visit sounds so similar.  I agree that it was one of the better doctor visits. I am also in the process of scheduling surgery with him. Good luck on yours!

I am so sorry to hear about your set back. I had a csf leak after a spinal tap which required a old patch. I know how painful that was so I can only imagine the misery that must have been having just had surgery. Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers. I also pray for your speedy recovery. I certainly will post my surgery date and such!
