Just some odd questions

First, what does HA mean? I assume a headach or something, but is there a technical reason for that word?

Second, I am sure that no one can say for sure that a chiari would cause certain symptoms, but there are two I wonder about. #1) as stupid as it sounds can water intake make you feel worse? I keep thinking if maybe I just kept myself better hydrated I would feel better, but then I start drinking water and I swear it can make the pressure start building up, and many times makes me feel sick to my stomach and just ill feeling, like a sea sick feeling. #2) Taste, like no food is a party in my mouth anymore, and frankly I wish I didn't have to eat. There is just no enjoyment in food any more, or there is too much taste like if I eat a strawberry, where it looks like I just ate the most sour pickle ever. Or anything with vinegar like ketchup, you would think I was trying to eat a sour ball!

Last, I have read where chiari problems can cause mucus problems, but can not find how. Many many problems with inflammitory sinus disease, and countless infections, so I wondered if simply anti-inflammitory foods would fix this, or does your csf flow in any way effect your sinuses.

Anyway, just wondering if any one else has had these feelings.

Thanks for the link, I know I had seen one before but I just can't seem to navigate the site as well from the tablet as I can from my regular computer, but feel too ill to get up and go sit in front of it. Would rather just curl up in ball on the couch while I sift through it all. :)

As for the water, who knows. It used to make by IBS flair up, but now it just makes me sick. Of course no doctor believes me, except for one homeopathic doc who said if it makes you woozy, don't drink it. Great advice, except leaving out the part of how to stay hydrated without drinking it :(

I am just so sick of all these odd little things being off, and figure if decompression surgery doesn't work, at least I have tried everything. So many things you just get used to living with I guess, but getting tired of more and more days being filled with pressure or pain, or both.

Thanks again for the link, and I look forward to reading the rest of the journals as soon as I can.

Hi, yes HA = headache...we use many abbreviations and have a page listing most of them. here is the link-http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Neurological%20Disorders/Acronyms-and-computer-short-hand/show/509?cid=186

The mucus is in part due to sinus and many with compression and overcrowding do have their sinuses affected...they are up there, just like the pituitary gland...many have that compressed too....

So, if u have compression of ur sinuses then u may have PND, and that can lead to GERD....

The anti inflammatory foods can help...keeping hydrated can help....

Y u get sick when u hydrate, not sure, mayb u r over hydrated....sorry, I have no idea.

Taste...even the smell of things has changed for me, so I understand what  u r saying.... again this can be due to the sinuous issues, even GERD/reflux can affect how things taste.

But what we all have to remember is this is our control center...everything is controlled thru our brain stem and spinal cord, so if it malfunctions everything can malfunction....

  Hope this helps
