Hi, I am having surgery next Monday with one of the best neurosurgeons in the country. I am very nervous, was just wondering how long everyone’s surgery actually took? He told me 2-4 hours?

Hi sending you all the best wishes, good vibes and healing MoJo for your impending surgery.....everyone is different and things can change once they are inside as sometimes things are seen while in that were not visible on the MRI.....I was told 4 hours and was in surgery almost 8 hours....
May I ask which surgeon you are going to have?

Okay thanks! Just wondering cause that’s the part I’m nervous about, being under. He told me my case isn’t as severe as others.

Dr. Vez with Drexel neurosurgeons, will be done at Lourdes.
You should do fine then.Keep a positive outlook and positive outcomes will follow.....just remember to listen to your body during recovery and do not rush to "get back to normal" what ever that may be, know it is best to go slow and steady then to rush.....rushing can lead to setbacks.
Good luck <3
About how long were you out of work? He told me 4-6 weeks, but I have a very physical job so maybe longer.
I never went back...not sure too many can go back that soon.
Oh okay. I’ll just listen to my body then... I planned to try and go back sometime in January after Christmas. Will just tell doc I’m not ready if I don’t feel good, just sucks cause disability takes forever to pay ya.
I know...but it is not worth rushing.
