My surgery is Thursday Feb. 4. I will try to have my husband post a update if he can fiqure out how to do it. I still don't know how to work this site very well yet. I have been trying to send you a post to ask you a couple of questions but can't seem to get it to work. I just wanted you to know all the info you post has been so helpful to me and i wanted to say thank you. i am so nervous about the surgery i don't know what to do with myself sometimes.
I meant the 7th in the morning. I am sorry I swear my brain does not work half the time. i dont know what i was thinking. I have to be there at 7 in the morning i guess it will start about 9. thank you for asking and being concerned
Thank you that makes me feel better. I sent you a pm about my date i didnt know if you would see it here before tommarrow or not but i also explained about the birth defect i was born with if you could look at it and let me know what you think i would appreacite so much
Thank you guys sooo much for the prayers, but with all the commotion going on lately, I forgot to update you guys. When I did my pre ops on march 18th, they called me a few days later to say I had a UTI (this happens all the time, but don't feel like I have one right now) so they gave me a 3 day antibiotic. So on friday my leg started itching, by sat. i knew it was a rash, called the doctors on sun. they switched my meds, and canceled my surgery. I have been rescheduled for April 12th. That was the worst count down for my life, now to have to do it again..grrrr Oh and by the way my sister had her twins <3 Jada Marie 5lbs 6oz and Jayden Mondrell 6lbs 5oz born @ 36 weeks healthy as could be <3
Hi...I will look into her sign on issue and thank u for sharing her surgery date.....there are instructions on how to correct or change ur password...but right now I can not locate it....did she send an e-mail to MH?
My 6 year old Jacob will have a decompression and occipito-cervical fusion down to C3 on August 21st. He has chiari plus basilar invagination, retroflex odontoid and a lot of anterior brainstem compression as well as 28mm cerebellar tonsils and brainstem herniation going on. Dr. Rekate at TCI is doing the decompression and Dr Insinga will do the fusion as a team on the same day.
Hi....good luck to ur DS Jacob and know I will post a prayer thread, please feel free to post updates on that thread so we all know how he is doing, and the prayers will be for u as well .....I can only imagine how it is to be the parent of a child undergoing this surgery....
BTW= Dr Insinga did my decompression and I really loved him.,...so I know he is in good hands <3
Yes I did, I do recall it was a large campus.....did u set up a place to stay? If not call TCI back and ask about Variety House....the guards from the Hospital will escort u to and from the VH to the Hospital,....and it is a more affordable place to stay.
Just saw it on the other thread...thanks for updating here too....
I mentioned in the thread they changed my date to a day later....but I also forgot to say that my surgery or reason or area was changed 2 weeks b4....originally I was going for TC release surgery and 2 weeks b4 I was told they decided that I would benefit more from the decompression surgery...
They were right, but I still need the release, just have not decided to go back for that yet....
I think I posted my surgery info on the prayer thread. I can never keep things straight...sorry for the repeat.
I am scheduled for surgery in Dallas on Nov. 6th. I have to fly from Phoenix on the 4th to meet with the doctor and my surgey is on the 6th. I will have to stay in the hospital for 5 days and then a hotel for 3 to 4 days. I will go back for a check-up on Nov.12 and fly home on the 13th.
My surgery is on my spine. Dr. Feigenbaum will be doing surgery on the 2 Tarlov Cysts I have on my sacrum area. I have numerous cysts on my lumbar and cervical spine, but it's too dangerous to remove them all.
So I will be out of commission for at least 4 months.
My neurosurgeon won't do surgery on my Chiari until I tell him I can't take anymore. Sounds pretty crappy to me!!!
And another one... TCI called back and I a scheduled for consultation on December 16 and cranial cervical fusion on December 19, which is 2 days shy of my 1 year zipperversary!!!! I am beyond excited :D
I was so surprised they wanted to schedule it before they saw me! I have never even had an upright MRI or flexion and extension MRIs. I will have to look back at my supine MRI because apparently they saw something significant! Thank you for all of the prayers and positive thoughts!
No worries...Let me know which Dr u r assigned to.....
Did u make arrangements to stay at the Housing they offer?...it is less expensive then a hotel, and close to their office and near the Hospital....It is a house and it has a common area as well as a common kitchen....my DD and DH stayed there when I was in the hospital and said it was clean and comfy,....that was in 2009.....but I am sure it is still an ok place to stay.
I am assigned to Dr. Rekate with Dr. Insinga assisting in surgery. We did look at the housing they have, and it looks like a fantastic option for many people! I am having a whole crew of people come with though :) My mom is coming along with my fiance. His mom was going to come as well, but they decided to make a family vacation out of it so my future mother and father in-law are coming along with 3 of my fiance's sisters (8, 13, and 15). We decided to rent a house/condo and hopefully spend some time in NYC and maybe go see a broadway show while we are over there!
My port placement for October 21 is cancelled. I have had issues with surgeons, I have an appointment for the same day with a different general surgeon, so I will let you know when the new date for the surgery is!
