Lots of symptoms

After months of symptoms like posterior headaches(not severe), occasional nausea, tinnitus, a few instances of neck pain, numbness in hands, feet, and face, constant eyelid twitching, I finally had an MRI that showed mild cervical stenosis and other mild degeneration. I was referred to a NS who said the stenosis was very mild and surgery is not necessary. I already made another appointment with another NS as a backup. He also said it was very mild, but mentioned a Chiari Malformation. He explained what it was and that it should be monitored, but didn't seem to concerned. He did order PT for my neck and back, thinking my numbness in my feet was caused from an issue in the lumbar region. It's possible but I think most of what is going on is caused my the CM. My initial symptoms started with the mild posterior headaches, and after exercising one evening that's when everything really started going downhill. So maybe I aggravated it? I think I've had this my whole life. I had a seizure when I was 17 (38 now) and I think I remember something about a part of my brain sitting lower in my skull. I assume the CM is what they were talking about. Sorry for the long post. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar symptoms, especially the tinnitus and eyelid twitching. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

Chiari is a congenital condition and it is still not yet understood how or why some with it have symptoms for a long time, while others seemingly never have any...my opinion is they do, they just adjusted to them and consider them their " normal"...it is in our nature to avoid things that seem to cause pain/symptoms....I thought I didn't like gym class because I didn't like doing the  activities but looking back....I know how most made me feel....but not knowing what I had were symptoms and that not everyone felt that way....only once I got my DX and learned more about Chiari could I connect the dots.

Eye twitching ...yup...I had people say they thought I was winking at them and one person said I looked at them with " one eye" ...not sure what it means..but I am sure it has something to do with the twitching...lol...
