Well my Monday rant is.....  WHY do I feel sick to my stomach with nerves and anxiety about my NL appointment at 4pm today..

I have my questions printed and new symptom list and am ready I guess for my next neurological knock back!!!!!

Praying so hard that they give me answers but most of all praying that they LISTEN.

Thanks to all my friends here I can go in informed, prepared and ready for what comes next.

Will post tonight on how I get on.

Hugs to everyone

I just finished my holiday shopping for my own kids. Thank you Amazon.com. I seriously urge you guys to do your shopping on the internet, to spare your energy for other things.

My rant will be about this dang cold/flu bug that won't go away! I'm thinking I was getting over it, to be hit by something else. I felt better a few days last week, then got slammed with fevers again. My chest was doing better, but now it's so congested, it hurts to breathe and I'm having to take Mucinex again. My immune system is all flared up, so it's attacking my joints, and psoriasis is flaring up too. I skipped my weekly dose of Methotrexate for my arthritis. I just found out my Father-in-law had a bug last week that sounds exactly like my symptoms. His father(grandpa) had it, and apparently spread it around at my son's 3rd birthday party. Ugh. I was supposed to go to the rheumatologist today, but I called and told them I had a fever and didn't want to spread this bug around their office(lots of immunocompromised people). They actually thanked me for not coming, and said they wished more people would be as considerate. They're not charging me the cancellation fee for not giving 24 hour notice. I was feeling better on Fri, so I thought I'd be fine.

I just hope that this big is on it's way out of my body. It's been 2 weeks basically now, with a few days in the middle where I felt I was getting over it. I just hate being sick like this. I want to just stay in bed and sleep all day. I did that yesterday. LOL!

Ray- I am with u..but too many drs give us meds as band aids never even trying to figure out y we r in pain....just get us out of the office...then when we r still in pain and they can no longer justify the meds we r just med seekers.....it is a vicious cycle...and many can self medicate and develop a problem...this is y I gave all meds to my DH and said I did not want them unless necessary.....

Niki- I want the same things...to trim the tree, and bake the pies...and wrap the gifts with no pain, no exhaustion....nut it just is not to be....
When I was still working...I went to work on my days off, I slept....I was like that for yrs......housework,what is it?....I only do it a little at a time, when I really have to...and most of the time I do not have to....I am here alone, no one comes by...so who cares? if it is a tad dusty....I might, I try not to look...lol....it is where u place ur priorities...when I had a job, it was on having energy to work...when my DD was still at home I had to divide it btwn the 2....housework did not fit in....not in a reg schedule neway.....

I was lucky to have DD to do my shopping for me....not this yr...not sure how that will go.....

But do what u can and do not stick to some ideal that this  or that must be done..do laundry, dishes, etc....but....when u can......relax the schedule to allow u to relax.

The christmas season is fast approaching and my monday rant is that I just want to be able to function normally and do all that I used to in a day without feeling like I want to collapse.  Have had 12 weeks off work and want to go back after my nl apt on 22nd but petrified, although pain is now managable, Im just exhausted to point of collapse in my legs if I overdo it!!!! and the more I do the worse I feel, need to work to pay my mortgage but seriously dont no how im going to do it.  Up at 6am full days work back at 5pm then household stuff to do, then christmas rush and shopping on top!!!!

I hope you get good news on Weds. I hate the pain as well. It is hard to be taken seriously by doctors when you go to them with pain that is body wide, they are in my experience skeptical when you have pain in many areas of your body and tend to think it is psychological.......you get frustrated and stressed and the pain gets worse, you get depressed and everything just spirals. The problem now is that because you cant get relief for your pain the temptation is to self medicate, we hear so much about the risks of self medicating, the very doctors who for what ever reason cannot or will not treat our pain are usually the ones shouting the loudest about these risks.........

Thanks for the Heads up on that dr....I will have to have him removed.

Well some r lucky to have relief from surgery....not all will....some could possibly have more pain afterward....

The best thing I can tell u is find the right dr for u thru research...make sure he has a practice that whole focus is chiari.

There r a few members here from Canada, mayb they can offer some insight on drs they have been to.,

Please keep us posted on ur dr search.

Thanks for the list. I guess I have lots of drs to look at. Just wondering does the pain and pressure every go away? The dr on the list from London Ontario is not there any more. I think he went to British Columbia. Thanks again.

Selma...the aftercare?? What does that word mean again...lol...

Yes, it is horrible and if you really expect to get some then you have to be prepared to fight for it. One plus for me was the fact that now I had actually had brain surgery, my Dr was more likely to send me anywhere I wanted to go...but I still had to figure out where that was!! 9 months post op and I am STILL trying to find that one specialist who can explain to me WHY my walking is still affected and why I am still having chronic pain etc..it can be so frustrating sometimes b/c you know the answer is out there but you just don't know how to find it!!! Anyhow, I have my 2nd try for a gait assessment on Thursday...I'm crossing my fingers!

Hi I'm new to this. Just wondered if anyone has seen Dr. Heffez? Was he good? Did he help? I had decompression surgery in june 2008 and my life has been hell since. Can't seem to find a dr in Ontario, Canada that knows what they are doing. If anyone can help please let me know. Thanks
