MRI and Xray report

These are the Impression reports.  MRI-  There is no evidence of Parenchymal Hemorrhage.  There is a small amounty of nonspecific periventricular and subcortical white matter T2 signal abnormality.  These findings are not associated with positive mass effect or restricted diffusion.  Differential diagnosis includes demyelinization, gliosis, and small vessel occlusion.  No specific basal ganglial abnormality is seen.  There are a number of prominent perivascular spaces of virchow-robin noted incidentally.  Also noted  There are multiple small lesions in the periventricular and subcortical areas and predominantly in the frontal and parietal regions.  These for the most part are less than 5mm.  Is this normal or does it go along with Chiari or SM?

I don't believe I've had an injury to my spine.  I did have a shoulder injury.  But I was also in Law Enforcement for 12 yrs.  It may just be the way I carried myself.  But with the other issues in my spine, I doubt it's just from that.  I've always had good posture.  In High School, I was almost 5'8, at 42 I'm now 5'4 1/2.  I know I have lost at least an inch in the last 2 yrs.  I have gradually shrunk.  It has gone down over the yrs, I'm going to end up being five feet tall.  I just hate not being able to do what I use to.  I started making excuses as to why, until I just couldn't anymore.  I was in so much pain yesterday from making apple pies.  Rolling out the crust just about killed me.  Dr did prescribed Mobic, but after reading up on that I'm not taking it.  My Cholestrol is sky high...and so is my BP.   Not taking a risk with that stuff. I generally don't take any medication for pain, because I have mixed feelings about any type of meds.  I stick with advil for anything.

Chiari headaches do show in the neck....with not only pain but getting stiff.....

The symptoms for MS are so similar to Chiari it is often misDX'd as MS when it is Chiari....

Did you have an injury to your cervical spine since you have straightening of the lordosis.? I had it as well and let me tell you it can affect the neck and shoulders and cause major headaches.

Chiari symptoms cycle....so they can come and go and we can overlook so many since we consider so many of them and how we feel to be "normal"

Try to relax and  wait to see what the Dr has to say.

Thank  you Selma.  My father for the longest time was thought to have MS.  The Dr. did state that they were going to do a follow up MRI in six months.  I'm hoping the send me for a spine MRI, as I have major issues there too.  Straightening of the Lordosis, and osteophyte encroachemnt, disc narrowing.  I am very worried as, I have not been myself for a while.  It's taking it's toll on me physically, and emotionally.  I have never really been a headache person until about a yr ago, I suffered for about 3 weeks, then it went away.  Recently I have had headaches, but i think it's coming more from my neck.  My grandfather and nephew both have SM, coming from the lumbar area.  I'm also hoping with these issues, my PCP sends me to a neuro.  He is a new Dr. to me, and that doesn't make things any better.

Hi...this is not suggesting Chiari or Syringomyelia....but instead could be an indication of MS.....it is the demyekiniztion that has my attention. There are more tests to be done..so, do not freak over what a non medical person reads here....this could also indicate Guillain-Barré syndrome.

Same thing for the lesions they can indicate MS or severe headaches......

What I would expect is more testing. I would guess a LP could be next.

None of this means no Chiari or syringomyelia...as this is one area...and syringomyelia can appear in all areas of the spine.....so again, more testing .
