Migraines

So...I have been having the worst headache's ever. I had my surgery a month ago on Thursday. I feel great besides these headaches. They are starting to come everyday and it seems like they keep getting worse. I know that I can't expect to feel 100% already but I need some help from you all on what you did to help with the headaches. I am on pain meds, nerve med, caffine pills (to see if they help) so I am heavily dosed on drugs and still have them. ...I have tried heating packs, excedrine migraine, ice packs etc....please give me some advice on what has helped any of you. I would appreciate it so much!!! I really need the help.

I havent had my surgery yet so I dont know how bad they should be.  But if they are severe I would make sure the NS knows so he can see if you are having any complications.  Like a leak or something.  Are they worse lying or sitting?

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

I am so sorry to hear u r having such pain...at this point ur HA's should not be getting worse and u should be stepping down off ur meds a bit...since this is not the case, u need to contact ur dr...do u have a 6 week check up scheduled?

Increasing HA's at this point could be an indication of infection, rejection of ur patch or a CSF leak....do ur HA;s get worse depending on ur position?...worse if u r upright?

Until u see the dr, try to lie flat, keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water...some caffeine should help, but u already r taking the pills, cut back and drink a coke or two....but lie flat unless u go to the bathroom and see how u r in a few days...and see what the dr says.

Good luck

We r happy to have u here, but not happy for the reasons that bring u.
