My MRI, someone want to say me something about?

Hi! thanks to the community! it s great to find this forum i am very happy for that!  i ve posted my MRI i would like someone say me something about them, my doc say to me it s a tonsillar ectopia 5,5 mm but it s not the reason for my pain, i don´t know if he was a specialist in chiari, i don´t kow if there is a compression ¿? any ideas?

Thanks Selma, finally i ve asked an appointment with a specialist in chiari on tuesday, i hope i can say something more that day about my situation, i am so much worried even i cannot think clearly i ve an obsession with my MRIs findings

Dear Selma thanks for the support, i went to the chiari specialist on tuesday as i said before and well.. i had a very bad experience, the doc read the report where it s said 5.5 mm tonsillar ectopia and she said it s nothing to worry about, she said i should forget everything i had read and live my life because there is no chiari.. she didnt see my pics or even asked me something.. i know it s good specialist in Madrid and i am still surprised

I am so sorry this has happened .I too had a similar experience when I went to a so called "specialist" But they were only a NS not a true Chiari specialist....some times we have to see a few "specialists " in order to get the correct care

thanks Selma to answer me! well everything started with back pain(upper back and neck) and i went to the chyropracticioner and then it started my arm pain like burning pain (specially left arm) i went more times and i had some dizzines and blurred vision and insomnio i was very nervous because i took a lot of medicines for pain, i was fired for my job like a nightmare and everything was worst but now with hidro terhapy and not stress i am going better

And  you do not have the Chiari head aches? What areas did you have an MRI of? Cervical spine, thoracic , spine, and lumbar spine, brain MRI?

i had a full spine MRI and cerebral MRI as you can see in my pics i did in october when i was very bad, doc only found 5,5 mm ectopia and some vertebral wear between thoracic 7 and 8, can you see something in my pics? i m very confused thanks a lot

sorry i forgot to answer you, no i dont have chiari headaches only back and arm pain, some issues in my vission and dizzines, also anxiety very nervous because of the situation

Do you ever have any head pain....such as after laughing , coughing....yelling, ? and after a BM? these pains no matter how short lived are Chiari related headaches....not everyone looks to the definition of headaches the same way.....and only 5.5 mm's is nothing to sneeze at unless you are dealing with a Dr not too well informed or experienced with Chiari as Chiari is not the herniation but malformation of the skull....and no matter the length of the herniation it is if the herniation is causing a CSF obstruction and that is more the width of it then how long it is....mine were 4mm and 6 mm.....but I also had a partially retrroflexed odontoid which made things tighter inside....and made CSF flow tougher.....I would imagine no syrinx's were found if you had a full MRI?

Well i don t know maybe sometimes i have had some short headaches but not when i was very bad with my back pain i mean when doc asked the MRI.. And about the synrix it doestn appear in the MRI snd doce didnt say anything about that

The pain is so different from what I would classify as a headache I did not report it as one until I learned more about Chiari and realized I was having the headaches .....

Can you tell us more about the pain you are having that you went to the Dr for? Is it arm and back pain? Leg pain?
