Post surgery question

OK everyone,
I just realized this and didnt think anything of it till this afternoon. When I went to my physical medicinde Dr in March she told me my Sacral Joint sticks out too far. I didnt think anything of it till this morning when my Boyfriend asked me why my back arches so much. He told me his boss has back problems and if you have bad posture that it streches the muscles and tendons and can cause your back to arch too much over time thus causing pain....Case and point: It can lead to back pain and it TOTALLY makes sense for me. When I was younger I played soccer, Softball and was in Karate and marching band...I was active and had no back pain that I can think of. Now that I am not so active it makes sense.....What I want to ask is has anyone tried an inversion table  post surgery? My uncle has bulging discs and back pain like me and swears by it? My only concern is being upside down and having all the CSF rush to my head I dont wanna cause any problems with my patch????

I too arch my back a lot.  I stick my butt out...and when i started PT the therapist things it could be causing some of my back pain too.  She has told me to tuck my hips in and engage my abs when walking to help correct this.  Not sure how I am to correct the way I stand/walk for the past 28 years...but I have to try.

I am going to post to your PM now.

my dad has an inversion table and swears by it. I dnt no what the dr would say never thought to ask. All I no is it kills to be in that position. I am almost 9 months post op.  It makes my head split my neck hurt and my right side numb. I dnt no if it's just me but I would advise aginst it!

Hi Devin...the NL at TCI said that posture and correct posture can help us how we feel and that I should try Feldenkras method......it all has to do with posture.

The books I found were not a good read for me as my comprehension was off....so I gave the books to my DD to learn how I can use the technique...waiting on her right now...but u may want to check into it too.

Good luck

That's funny...I noticed I arch my back more now too and that my tailbone stick out more than it used to. In fact, that is what causes me the most pain when I sit up straight it's like painful to sit on....

I wish I had some info on the table inversion thing, I 'm not even sure what it is but something to look into anyway...

I hope you find some relief!
