Posterior Skull Pressure

SG2
Any tips on how to relieve the pressure at the base of skull/back of head?

It's absolutely driving me crazy.  I can't take it much more, in addition to the pain radiating down my neck to my left shoulder blade.

I've got about 15 more symptoms that I am having a hard time dealing with but these are by far the worst at the moment.

You're welcome,  plus it's a nice fit if u have to lie flat on ur back, like me,& most pillows just put me in a bind :-/

I know it's not a permanent fix  but I've tried so many different home remedies being desperate for relief....sometimes something simple works miracles, even a cold can of soda as a neck rest/pillow is a trick I used for a while...

A simple moist heat idea "Reusable microwaveable rice pouch"(if u have a sewing machine or someone who is crafty) sew the edges of a new hand towel  together, leaving a few inches opened, turn it right side out now, using a funnel to hopefully avoid a big mess, pour 2 cups of dry white rice into the opening, then finish sewing the rest of the pouch together. You can place a drop of lavender on the pouch if u wish, but be aware, once you place it in the microwave, you could have a lavender scented microwave for a while. Heat it to ur desired temperature (over cooking won't smell too groovy,be careful) & then place the pouch wherever needed....the moisture from the rice helps but it won't last  super long...you can also place the pouches in the freezer for cold packs if you want to.

I made a bunch of these for Christmas gifts a while back...big hit, simple, not expensive at all....& very useful :-)

Now no injuries while being creative guys...lol... I'm not liable for any booboos

I have found that as CW said a hot shower works well, but I also get a hand towel ( a thick one keeps the heat in longer) and soak in water as hot as I can get it, and it seems to have the best relief, however as soon as it cools it comes right back, but it is an immediate relief, and I dont mean complete relief, but to the bearable point. Hope this helps and hope you feel better soon !

I will often just give up and go to the shower. Run it as hot as I can stand, sit down and lean on something. Do my best to go to sleep and let it run. Takes some time but usually does feel a bit better so long the hot doesn't run out.

Yes doing the neck exercises and stetches does seem to help me also.  Have you tried a heating pad for only 15 min at a time though this does help loosen the muscles.  I also us a U pillow while sitting and even laying down because it takes some pressure off the head area.  Try not to bend or lift because this triggers the HA's.  I wish you a better pain free day tomorrow.
