Potential hydrocephalus complications

I am desperate for a second opinion and feel like there is something not right, but my neurosurgeon is being dismissive of my concerns! I know this is a Chiari Malformation forum but can't find a decent hydrocephalus forum
I am a 28 year old female with a VP shunt. It is original, placed at 9 days old, with no revisions or lengthening. My neurosurgeon refuses to entertain the idea that I could be having issues even when I mention the following:
Increase in migraines with little relief from  Excedrin Migraine for several months. Daily burning sensation in my neck (where my shunt is located) for the past 6 months. Nausea and dizziness.
I know I am probably not having a shunt malfunction but could it be possible my body is rejecting the shunt? What is the burning sensation that I keep having, and the neurosurgeon has no answer for? Should I get a second opinion?

Just bcuz you do not have an urgent need does not mean it is not a malfunction. I know cell phones and ipads can affect the programmable type of shunts.....

Is yours one like that?

Hi Shelly....I know you had decompression for Chiari and have continued to have issues/symptoms since....and you were not tested for EDS?

Having been DX'd with hydro basically at birth and having the shunt placed so early it would seem odd to all of a sudden reject it or have an allergic like reaction but that is just how these allergies and changes to being able to use certain meds and foods....something we have used, ate etc for a long time we all of a sudden have issues with....

So it is possible that it is a rejection to the shunt.....sure...but only testing will tell.
Why do you think it is not a malfunction?

To me a malfunction means an urgent crisis, and I have had these symptoms so long that it doesn't make since to me for it to be a malfunction. I am new to the shunt complication world so I don't know what to look for. My NS said since I have gone so long with no complications there is a chance I could never have a malfunction.
I just worry
