Thanks. Do you know if this is Chiari related?
This problem is called dysphagia, and you need a referral to a specialist in this area. They will order a swallow study, and go from there, as well as an MRI. There are many possible etiologies, some very serious and some not so serious. With some people the swallowing problem is circadian, and they can swallow more easily at certain times of day. Make a physician's consult a priority.
I think this is a neuro issue as well,
I will talk to my GP and ask about the Swallow study.
I was thinking of getting an antihistamine because my ears and sinius are blocked up.
It is, I get a bit panicky when it dose not go down.
I will be going over in the Morning and will have a chat with him about this.
Thanks Selma, I appreciate your feedback :D
Hi...I had this issue as well and went and had the swallow study done and all looked fine so it was a neuro issue and not a physical one....
I would suggest getting the test done so you know for sure....
Once in a while I still choke on my own saliva too....and find that the antihistamines is helping as I also had PND causing much of the choking as well....
This can be very scary and I do understand feeling anxious when it happens.....
Ask Kevin about a swallow study....
