Reflexes and Chiari's - jumpy a sign?

I saw my rheumatologist today and he tested my reflexes and said they were jumpy on both sides... Has this happened to people - after their post-op symptoms come back? I'm 2 years post-op now! Thanks

Hi...not sure....I am 18 months post op....but have not had issues with my reflexes.

It also depends on y ur symptoms r returning....once u get to the chiari specialist u should be able to get more answers.

I have not had surgery but my reflexes are absent in both legs and diminished in my arms however I understand from reading about CM & SM that abdominal reflex dose happen in people with CM & SM but I would imagine that this should resolve after surgery. I agree with Selma it would be best to talk to your NS.

I was told just recently that my reflexes were more than normal during an exam.  I literally have kicked my shoe off before when they test them at my knee.  I haven't had surgery yet, but thought that was interesting to be told that.

Yes, I have been dxed with Hyperreflexia, my reflexes are better then normal.
