I think we all worry about this bcuz we tend to be a bit diff  when in pain...shorter tempered....shying away from certain events bcuz of how we feel....and we tend to look a bit anti scocial.......After surgery I am finding it easier to get out more.....but it is better at 3 months post op.

I have not heard that ne one has changed their personality......remember pain can do alot to our temperment.

I was very nervous also......it is normal....u'll be ok.

Hi, I have only had one surgery, but yes there r those that have had to have additional decompressions or surgeries for related issues.

My room mate while I was in for my decompression was having a second decompression....sometimes it is due to an injury.....CSF leaks.....not a full decompression ( some drs do not cut the dura ) for the first surgery......some can be medical mistakes made during surgery.

Ur chiari will not be cured, just treated to help slow the progression, this is y we say avoid roller coasters ect bcuz ur chiari can re-herniate due to being bumped, a fall...ect....
