Sciatic Nerve Pain

I'm a 2009 3x Chiarian.

I suffer from sciatic nerve n back pain. Any advice for pain management?

It's really aggravating too when your docs tell u ur liver can't handle ne more Tylenol n ur kidneys can't handle ne more Advil. Then they want to give me Lortabs which I do not want n tell them no. They have to go somewhere too. Do not want ne narcotics. Plus Lortabs NEVER help me. It's like eatn candy.  Ice packs work better for me

If I knew for sure a Myelogram would help diagnose my problem I would have it done but then again they say that afterwards u may have a bad spinal headache. Can't win for losing.   :""(

Amazing Sandy!   Yes I find that's what helps me as well.  They've tried PT multiple times n chiropractor as well and yes it makes it a lot worse. Won't go there again. Sometimes I have my husband to pull my leg n stretch n hold it because my hips r out of line. That helps some too.

  what helps me....  i lay on the side of the bed  bend one leg  and hang one over and stretch the leg hanging over,  then flip over to the other side of the bed and do the same.

  i suffer from sciatic pain, i went to pt and it made it worse, i just went to a chiropracter and it didnt help, it does say that chiari and sciatic goes hand in hand

  PM = pain management does not always mean meds...PT even light PT should or could be tried....I was just confused as to y these were not.

I am not big on meds either...they mask the pain and issue so u do not know if nething new has started....

   Let us know how the myleogram  goes.

I don't like taking meds. Had plenty n my body already. He's wanting to do a Myleogram to c what all else is go n on.

  Hi...if u were dx'd with this, didn't the Dr give u some PM ?

I would think u should be able to do some light PT and use some heat...not having sciatic nerve pain I  really can not say.

  But I am confused as to y ur Dr is not treating u for this.
