Spinal fluid leak????

I was wondering if it is possible to have a sf leak without a huge bulge. Background : I am a month out from surgery, also have syringomyelia. Two new hard knots on my scar with a little leaking. Not much about the size of a dime. It was clear then yellow then orange like pus maybe. I'm on double strength bactrim for another issue. I am very nauseous especially when I sit up from laying down, I have been vomiting but not enough to be dehydrated. I can eat and drink just fine. When lying down I sometimes feel like my body is moving but I am not moving. I do have a call into the doctor. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated! The knots I have are the size of a quarter and hard not squishy.

Mt best friend lives in AZ! Lol I am not sure of the time difference I'll ask her and see. My surgery is at 7 am. I'm of course a little down having to go through this again so soon. My leak has to be fixed and hopefully I will feel better after this surgery. I hope you're doing well and the brick is still shrinking. Last time I was on oral meds for 2 days before I went home and I'll make sure they transition me for sure. This time I'll have some type of drainage tube put in that will be taken out before I leave.

Are your Dr's going to be harvesting your own tissue for the patch?
Praying for an ease of heart, mind and soul for you!
Hope to hear from you soon!

I commented on the other post (minus my typos!), but just wanted to again say I wish you luck on your upcoming surgery. It stinks to go through again but maybe you will feel much better after this one! Just remember to rest as much as possible and since it's a leak you should drink lots of fluids which I'm sure you know! Take care and look forward to updates as you can!

It's a spinal fluid leak :( I have been feeling awful so sorry I haven't been online much I have been wondering how you are doing also!! I have my second surgery on Tuesday and I am not at all looking forward to it. My first was Dec 29th and here we go again. I never had a huge bulge or anything so I am shocked that it is a leak. Today I had a Mri with dye injected into my spine and that was horrible. I was not at all thinking it would hurt like that and tonight I still hurt. I am pretty good when it comes to pain I just grin and bare it but today was just crazy painful. I can't believe they do that test without any medication to ease your body and help with the pain. How are you???? Message me anytime. I didn't know you had messagedone me on this thread idk why but I don't get my notificationstuff about questions but I do get message alerts hope you are well. I will let you know how surgery goes and hopefully be alert enough to message you after to let you know how everything is going while I'm in the hospital
Ohhhh....I'm sorry girl !! I know that's the last thing you wanted to hear. But, at least there is an answer to your growing problems...the nausea should get better-a LOT should get better!!! I know it's a scary and heavy path to get there, but I believe you'll feel so much better. We can't have you leaking like that ;)
I will most certainly be praying for you in Tuesday. Big time. I'm in Arizona...I'm wondering what our time difference is & what your surgery time is. I'll be praying for not only that the hands your in be confident,  well Chiari-knowledgeable & that God will guide their hands. As well, that you will recover sooner than you think, smoothly and with no further complications.
I'm very glad there is a clear answer and there is power in that! I'll be in touch, send uplifting quotes and send a laugh here&there (but limited laugh, as I know that laughing after such a surgery is...a pain lol, but not lol...if you know what I mean.
Make sure you don't leave that hospital until your pain is well controlled by the meds you'll be taking when at home (the oral meds...I wish I'd been in the oral meds. for at least 12-24hrs.-in the hospital- to make sure the pain would be sufficiently managed!
Please let me know what time your surgery is on Tuesday&what the time difference is between you and Arizona, if you can!
Again, your in my prayers and you've got a warrior out here in the desert sending big time prayers your way!
Love ya!

Let the fluid that is leaking drip onto a tissue, if as it dries it forms a bullseye it is CSF.....

It is possible to have a slow leak as well as a fast one....the more fluids that are leaking the worse the symptoms are....

Vomiting is an indication not only for a leak but for infection....call your Dr asap

I think it's a good idea to call your NS, just to be safe. I had knots along my insicion that were hard and painful like that and did leak. They seemed to think that it was a stitch abscess but with me, the jury is still out on that one! I hope you get a call from him soon and an answer!
