Surgery Complete

Hello all...I had surgery July 21st and am now at home recovering. My doctor did a bone only decompression and told me it was worse than he thought. He said my brain so squised that he had to take extra bone than expected. This also mmeant he had to harvest more of my skin for the patch. I do not feel any relief yet so I'm not sure if that's good or not?

I see that some people feel immediate relief. Is it a bad thing that I don't feel any relief yet? I'm a little nervous.

Thank you

You need to have a patch. Bony decompression brings not enough room usually. So basically it means yet another surgery.

I am sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. I am getting ready for my surgery on Tuesday 7/29 and I cannot even imagine what the post-op recovery will be lIke. May prayers and good wishes be with you tonight. I hope when you awaken tomorrow that you will begin to feel relief in your healing time.

Wow...so sorry you do not feel better...I know I did feel great immediately post op but I am sure much of it was the meds I was on as I weaned off the meds some symptoms did return but not as strong as b4 surgery...and they did not last as long.

Generally around 3 months post op is when most see a return of symptoms....again they should not be the same as b4 surgery....

I can't speak for anyone else, but it seems that you may have longer recovery than what is "normal". I haven't had a headache since surgery on July 2nd but I'm still having other symptoms. I think you will get better with time.
