Throbbing Pressure!

I always have constant pressure in the back of my head. Lately the pressure has been throbbing which I have never had before. Sometimes it is very strong and it makes me dizzy. Does anyone else experience throbbing with their pressure headaches?

  Hi...yes, this can happen if ur HA's are a result of an obstruction that is pulsating with u BP.... a CINE MRI is the best way to see if this is the problem...did u have surgery yet?

NS told me it was obstructed fluid flow as Selma said.  At times it makes me really "dizzy".  It sounds like my head is going swoosh swoosh...HATE IT!

I have also been experiencing chest pressure and higher blood pressure when this happens. Anyone else?

I also get chest pressure and have gone to the ER to to get the "heart if fine" talk to your PCP ... My blood pressure shoots crazy high and I am on lisnopril to help stablilize it.  I am sorry you have these symptoms as they really are scary.  I am so thankful for this website.  I felt so alone in all of my crazy symptoms and then 1 by 1 with diagnosis go what the heck is that!  It helps to know we are not alone.

  Hi...u may have a Dysautonomia  issue which can happen with ur BP and change of position,,,,,

Deff talk to ur Dr about this, rule out heart issues, check for all related chiari conditions, syrinx, Ehlers-Danlos...as they can also affect the heart, the syrinx depending on where it may be, and EDS depending on the type u may have.

POTS is a very good possibility too so do talk to ur Dr.

Thanks Selma. I went to my PCP this morning and had an EKG which was fine. She wants me to follow up with my neurologist. The only problem is he is an MS neurologist and although he is very good, chiari is not his specialty. I was seeing Dr. Di at the Cleveland Clinic but since he left I don't have a chiari specialist to talk to. Oh, the frustrations of chiari! Thank you all for being here, it definitely helps.

  This is not a referral, but there is a NS in Ohio that is a Chiari dr, u may want to check him out, his name is on the list and a few members have gone to him....
