Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
The poster u replied to had not been an active member lately and if u want to ask this person a question u can try a PM (private message) that will generate a e-mail to her so she knows someone is trying to communicate.
As for ur question , has neone found a cure, for the chiari or dental issues?
If u mean Chiari there is no cure, only treatment....the teeth issue could be a result of the nerves being affected by chiari.
Have u been to a Chiari specialist yet?
Has anyone found a cure? It'd my upper right back teeth that are killing me. It hurts to even brush them. It started 2 years ago. I went to the dentist he did xray said my teeth were fine that I should go to my ENT.
My ENT did a MRI on my sinus and it came back clean. He couldn't find a reason for the pain. A month later out of nowhere the pain disappeared.
Now it's back again. I can't eat. I can barely brush my teeth. I can't drink really cold or hot beverages. My teeth are so sensitive and the pain wont go away. I know I don't grind my teeth.
I was just diagnosed with Chiari Malformation. Any link or any pain relief idea? I already use Sensidyne Toothpaste.
THANKS!
I have pain in my teeth on the upper right side, but it is from the occipital nerve that runs through that area that is causing the pain. I also have a lot of vision issues in the right eye we are trying to figure, I think its the Chiari but neuro says its not.
Around two months ago my teeth started hurting bad went to the dentist she said everything was fine. I went ahead & completed a complete cleaning & thought it would go away. Well last week my face swoll up & my teeth was hurting so bad i couldnt stand it.long story short it was my wisdom tooth the whole time it was on top & my bottom teeth was hurting! I had atleast 5 xrays before it showed to be the true cause. I got it pulled yesterday & i already feel much better.
Hi...I always had jaw pain, since my surgery I do not get that pain.....so it had to be something with the CSF blockage.....sorry I didn't get to post b4 u went to the Dr.
Many do suffer with TMJD, my dentist checked me for it and said I did not, but if I want to try an appliance to try and stop the possible grinding of my teeth, to go to a sports store and get a mouth guard that u put in boiling water to make it conform to the mouth. Then sleep with it in.
"selma"
Well then... something to keep in the back of my mind when I see the dentist later today and I get told that there's nothing wrong again! I won't tell them, they'll think I'm crazy, but this will be my last attempt to get my teeth fixed.
When I turn my head I get this pain radiating into my jaw and therefore into my teeth. If ONLY your teeth are hurting, I don't know, but my neurologist seems to think the radiating pain I get is related to everything else going on with me.
Nerves are connected in very unexpected ways!
When I started the Chiari issues I had just dislocated my jaw and hit my head and the jaw pain was causing tooth pain. They thought I might be clenching at night so I ended up with a bite guard at night and it helped greatly with tooth pain! Since you have a tight neck with Chiari it just makes sense that it will also be jaw issues so maybe teeth? Just frustrating how much pain can be in the neck area! :) Good luck!
