UPDATE ON LORI ~~~~

Hi , I got info from Lori's daughter Emily, that Lori was out of surgery and all went well.

Hi all! I just wanted to let you know that I'm doing ok. My head and neck are hurting and I keep having these zings of pain. Also my eyes may pop out... I'm not sure. The ice is helping that tho. :)

I just wanted you to hear from me... that way you can feel assured that all is well.

I haven't seen Dr. Di yet... hopefully I will see him soon.

Hi all!!!!  It's me!  I am still in the hospital... I told them one more day.  I am still having lots of soreness from the incision point and those daggone ZINGS of pain that come at different intervals with no rhyme or reason.  Standing makes my incision sort of burn... but I have to walk some.  Standing and straining still cause some pressure throbbing in my head... but all this SHOULD cease as the healing progresses and the swelling goes down.  xx Fingers Crossed xx

For the most part, I think I'm doing amazingly well after what Dr. Di did!  LOL!  He cam in this morning and told me what all he found.  He said though my tonsils were only 5.5mm and 6mm, they were very large around.  He said that my C1 vertabra was very small and almost setting inside of my C2.  So what was happening was that my "tonsils" were down into the C1 and then as the CSF pulsated with the heartbeat, the tonsils were acting as "pistons" and compressing down into the C1.

SO... he did a craniotomy and took off a part of the C1 (don't know what that is called.)  He did a dura splitting of the exterior dura and left the inside one intact.  There were no problems, no CSF leaks, etc.  All went well.

I am tired and need to lay down now, so I will post more as I am able.

Did he use a dura patch?...if so what type, u may have mentioned b4...sorry I don't remember.

I think its called a laminectomy...in case you're dying to know...lol..

I'm glad to hear that you are getting up a little..all of that is signs of the healing progression! Over time I am sure that the pain and pressure will lessen, but it does take time so rest easy :)
