Well I want to first thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers for my little loves. They are starting to feel much better now. I am hoping that my oldest Logan will be able to return to school this morning. My two littlest loves are still [retty sick but getting better pretty fast. It has been a regular hospital atmosphere around my house the last week. But, I am so glad that I was able to treat them here at home. My hubby and my person (I call her this, she was my moms best friend and she has been there for me like my mom would be since my mom passed) were here all week to help me with my little ones. It really made it much easier on me. Though I am lucky to have had a descent week when they needed me most. It has surely taken its toll on me though. I am so happy that they are recovering so well!!! :-)
I had my NL visit yesterday with Dr. Barton, and I have to say that she impressed me. She said that she would reccomend surgery for the CHiari, and that she would send her reccomendations to the NS. I found out yesterday that her and my NS work together on all cases and not only is that cool, but they are in the same building ! I mean how cool, I had no idea until she said I am going to reccomend you see Dr Tender~ I was like wow....I have an appt with him at the end of this month. That in and of itself is good news. She was awesome!~ Spent an hour and a half with me. She wants me to try a cervical traction unit and also said that she wants to do a seizure workup on me becuase she thinks that some of my episodes that I have are def seizure related and that the Chiari is adding to it. She also said that I def have gait, which honestly I was unaware of, and that she def suspects ocipita nuralgia. She was so very thorough. She has determined that I def have sensory problems in my arms, hands, feet, and some of my right leg. She also said the a have alot of muscloskeletal problems as well, that she wants to dig into a bit further. She said that she is determined to find out just what is going on and get to the bottom of it all in correlation with my NS. She has prescribed me a new cream that is awesome. Instead of having to take a bunch of pills, it is a cream that combines meds into a cream and when something hurts, you just put the cream on and instant relief...I didnt really believe her until she pulled out her own prescription from her bag and said here try this..and for the first time in soooooo long my neck did not hurt, at all. i was amazed. It is from some pharmacy out of state. Medicaid doesnt cover it, so she herself is having her offoce pay for a bottle to start, whcih is something she saod she would never do, but that she just felt so bad that I was suffering so much that she wanted to help in some way. She also adjusted some of my meds which I think will help alot. My bottle of cream should arrive at my home in just a few days and I cant wait !!! Anyway~ I was suprised at how helpful she was and how knowledgable about Chiari she was...she even pronounced it right, and gave me a few tips that I would have never thought of. She will be handling my care along side my NS and she said she would be more than willing to help me advocate to him if need be :) Anyway, I just wanted to share a positive experience with a Dr. since so many of us have had such terrible ones. Take care and I hope that It finds you all feeling well this morning !
