What to take to the hospital for decompression surgery

Hi all!  Just wanted some input of things to take to the hospital for my decompression surgery.  Maybe things you had that were helpful, or things you wish you'd had to make things easier.  Thanks for the input.  My surgery is more than likely going to be 1 week from today.

Does the mask go around ur head or ears???...If it is ur head...u may not be able to wear it bcuz of the incesion....but if u can adapt it to go over ur ears u will be able to get use of it.

Do try and keep ur door closed then......keep asking the nurses to close it behind them ...otherwise they do not and it can get so very loud....one night...I said it sounded like they were bowling for dollars in the hallway......

I also hope u have someone that will post here on how u r doing!!

Thank you so much for the suggestions.  I am thinking as far as pajamas, I'm going to get button up pajama sets.  That way I won't have to pull anything over my head, or lift my arms up, just in case my shoulders are sore.  I got all of the carryout menues for the restaurants near the hospital from Foodler.com.  I figure that way I'll just send the husband out for food.  This hospital does however offer a separate gourmet menu for an additional cost, so if that's cheaper, I'll just do that.  I wish I could afford the suites on the Concierge level of the hospital.  My hospital is in Atlanta, so I guess they have to have a private floor for all of our demanding "celebrities"  LOL.  I went today and got shower wipes, the ones they use for like nursing home patients, so thanks for that suggestion Selma!  You guys are great!  Oh, and I didn't get earplugs because they bug me, but I am taking a sleep mask to block out the lights that never go off.  I just hope it doesn't bother me to put it on my head...

your own clothes!!!!  (pajamas!)  something else i learned, for tshirts to sleep in, bring shirts that have a bigger neck.  i wear a small, and my boyfriend wears a large...it was much easier getting his shirts on than mine!!

also, hospital food is gross, so bring snacks you enjoy, that helped me a lot!
