Why the tingly feet/hands?

SG2
What causes those symptoms?

I'd have to say my biggest complaint lately is the tingly face/hands/feet, particularly the feet.  They always feel as if they're in that state of waking up from being asleep.  So painful... I can't stand it.  What causes this exactly from the chiari?

I agree with syrinx comment! I have syrinx and have tingling in arms, fingers, feet. I don't have it daily..but do have it and was told my syrinx was the cause! Worth getting checked out!

Not sure if you have a syrinx but as it places pressure on those spinal nerves its disrupting the signal that's trying to go out to those limbs and back from those limbs . Yes of course there can be comorbid disorders but B12 is a separate disorder from chiari/syrinx symptoms, they are similar in some ways and B12. And vitamin d definiciency were ruled out before finally finding the syrinx. Actually they were ruled out because my tingling and other also looked like MS, then MS was ruled out lol.

So always good to have all things checked but if youure here for chiari/and or syrinx, chances are tingling is due to disruption of nerve signal to hands and feet since its a classic symptom of disease.

I could be very off here, but syrinx can cause BOTH upper and lower motor neuron symptoms (MS causes only upper, ALS both etc) upper motor neurons cause the spasticity(hyper ie extra tone, the funky sensations (parenthesias spelling?) Lower motor neuron damage cause falccidity, hypotone, atrophy, fasciculations ( a certain kind of muscle twitch I get that's weird lol can see youtube videos if curious). The way the spinal tracts are oraganized is with motor pathways further away from center. But of course don't let some quack job tell you a small one does nothing lol, mine is long and thin and there's no way for me to fake fasciculations from shoulder to toe since you can see it literally popping 24/7 sultaneously in mult places. Everything in the cord is getting squished from the center outward and certainly can cause problems further out from syrinx.

I'm obviously a lay person and my neuroanatomy is rough lol as I was disgnosed a year ago and its less fresh but I hope any of that can be helpful. I don't think I get notified of replies here? So feel free to shoot me a message if u reply with any questions if there's some other way I can offer anything to help. Understanding has helped me deal a little bit better with all of this, ha a little :) I hope you can find some relief. Not sure of ur meds or other symptoms. Enough to suggests anything but thinking of you!

If I sleep on my side, the leg I'm on will fall asleep. and if I sleep on my back, it goes numb along with the back of my arms. still happens and I'm 3 1/2 months post op. think it'll go away?
also still have the tingling limbs.

It can be one of 2 diff things....it can be the nerves r impinged or it can be low levels of vitamins and minerals like vit B12....vit D....potassium, magnesium and calcium.

I know that these issues can have periods where they last longer and can really be a irritation.....talk to ur Dr to make sure u have all ur levels checked.
