Winged Scapula

I have a winged scapula.  I am 63 and have been in pretty good health up until recently.  I had a hysterectomy last month and now I have this awful shoulder pain and loosness in both my shoulders, and a winged scapula on my right side.  I've got a appointment with an orthapedic Doc next tuesday.  Should I be seeing a Neurologist? Should I exercise or keep still?  Should I apply heat or cold?
Crazy thing is I had this when I was in my early 20's!  It aparently was caused by nerve damage.  It healed up finally after about a year.

First, I love your screen name. It makes me think of my dear mother making breakfast on cold mornings. I could comment on your question about exercise. Always be careful of not doing anything too strenuous. Walking is the best exercise. I hope you do feel some relief. Sometimes when I walk, at least some of those pesky emotional issues I may be experiencing at the time can fade a bit in their intensity.
