accidental find of cerebellar tonsillar decent 6mm

hi well i was admitted to hospital a week ago after feeling unwell and sudden headaches and numbness in my left arm. I thought it was a water infection as kept needing the loo. The headaches wore off by lunch so never thought much about it. Anyway felt really bad and got told to go to hospital. They said that they wanted to check for any bleeds on my brain by doing a Ct scan and a lumber puncture. However whilst doing Ct they accidentally found l have cellarbella tonsillar decent by6mm They did an MRI scan which confirmed this and i was told i need to see a specialist  neurologist. So have just received my appointment and feeling very nervous. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks

hi yeah they did say i had whiplash after the accident x

PT can help with the effects of whip lash....the longer it goes untreated the worse it can get....

thank you for your advice i have constant pain in my neck at the base of my skull. Also i have a bone out of line in my neck which was also found accidentally after a car crash a few years ago. Which after speaking to the doctor whilst in hospital is connected

Did they check you for whip lash due to the MVA? I had it and I know how that can cause the muscles to pull everything out of alignment.

Your Drs should want to do more testing.....having herniated tonsils and some symptoms does not mean surgery....they will have to determine if you have a CSF obstruction and any other related conditions/issues.

I know it can be a bit un nerving......but know you are not alone....continue to ask questions and we will do our best to offer insight  from our personal experience with this condition.
