adult tectal glioma

My 25 year oldson has been diagnosed with chiari malformation, tectal glioma and hydrocephalus. I would very much appreciate hearing about suggested lines of treatment.

I am so sorry that you and your son are dealing with not one but two things. I am wondering what kind of symptoms he is experiencing?

From what I know about tectal glioma, the tumor can cause the same effect as chiari, which is increased pressure in the head, headaches, dizziness, brain stem compression. So I am wondering what the Drs have said, do they think it is one or both things causing his symptoms?
I would think that they would probably want to focus first on treating the tumor to see if that is causing the hydrocephalus. Then, if there is still an issue, treat the Chiari. That is the order I would take it. Still, what a difficult position for him to be in. I really hope that he has some good specialist that know about Chiari. If not, I would make sure that you have a 2nd opinion from a Chiari specialist too (if possible).
