after surgery update (nov.12, 2010)

srry I haven't been on much since my surgery. I have been feeling pretty awful and now am forced to be homeschooled again which I hate! My patch was frayed on all sides and that's y I had a bad leak. My ns determined this was from my pressure in my brain being to high. From a spinal tap last march he gave me the diagnosis of intercrainial hypertention or pseudo tumor ceribri. I have been on diamox for close to two months now with no relief. I have another spinal tap in two weeks and if the pressure is still high my be will be putting in a shunt. I just wish I would start feeling better already! Srry about my rant, I just had to get it out.

Molly...

I'm so sorry...and you have every reason to rant...you have been through so much it really doesn't seem fair. I know a shunt doesn't sound like a good thing but maybe it will finally take down the pressure so you can start to feel a little better. It sounds like your NS is on top of things which brings a lot of hope that you will get back to the life you are missing.

Take care....we are all rooting for you
