chiari 1 malformation and ALS

Is it possible to have both Chiari 1 malformation and ALS?

Hi and welcome to the chiari forum.

I am not aware of the two together, but everyone is diff and I am sure there's a possibility.
What r ur symptoms that u ask?

Were u dx'd with both?

From what I do know, some NS do not recognize chiari I as being symptomatic and will sometimes look for another condition to atribute the symptoms to.....but, I do know that I have several issues going on myself, so nothing ia impossible.

If u care to share more info, it may be helpful, but we r not drs here...just people like ursself....looking for info and support.

i know of someone who has been told she has both, but is going for a second opinion at the cleveland clinic.  she has slurred speech, swallowing difficulty, fatigue, headaches, numbness and tingling and twitches that wake her up at night.  do you know of any forums where a neurologist will answer questions?

Those are all chiari symptoms u listed.

The expert forums do not list chiari and I do not know if the neuro experts are up on all the updated chiari info.
