Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum
I hate rain too....change of seasons and change in temps....lol....any major change in weather will affect how I feel and I too can tell 2 days b4 the change.
I really feel we would make the best weathermen as we are walking barometers....lol...
I hate to hear so many ppl have pains like this but I am also glad to know its not just me...I can tell u about 2 days when we are gonna have rain..i hurt so bad in the back of my head as well as in my eyes...once the rain is here it eases up
i would def agree that the weather and pressure affects us it was snowing here in upstate ny this morning and i knew it before i got out of bed
While it is true we may never know, but I find it curious that soooooooo many of us do feel a weather change b4 it happens...
I always feel it 2 days prior and once the change takes place I feel great....
I have always been like this and have always stated the weather affected me B4 I got my DX so I had no correlation to Chiari, just knew it did affect me.
I have always felt the change in climate even before the change really appears for the eyes..
I remain careful but still end up with a bout of cold cough and flu invaraibly
I think so there should be some connection But the dr says just becoz u have a chiari dx u tend to correlate each and every thing related to that and says that .u would never know if they are related or independent
Yes the weather change, it is very lovely when this happens. I get a double dose, I got 4 rods in my neck. So the answer on my end is YES . I can tell you about 2-3 days before it does rain. The cold just makes it alot stiffer than normal. The rainy sometimes it relieves the pressure and then somtimes it doesn't just teases it to stay
Yes, I have always felt like a walking barometer.....friends could tell a storm was coming by the way my eyes looked and my voice would get....
I sometimes wonder how many diff issues as well as Chiari are affected by the barometer as I do have EDS and weather and temp changes still get me....not as much as b4, but I can tell when we will have a major change or at season changes I am out of commission for a bit.
I have been wondering the same thing. I have felt the pressure changes since I was really little. They have seemed to slacked off since my decompression in August, but I am not sure if it was Chiari related since I also have a a giant cisterna magna and a cyst that have taken up residence in my head. This time of year is really when the pressure changes would affect me the most and like you said, there is the inevitable bout of head cold.
