  i just wanted to share this with all of you....   i have been wearing purple finger nail polish for about 4 months now,  i have been asked numerous times why i don't change the color, my answer,   "it is the chiari malformation color "  wow do i get strange looks !!  lol  i think i have made so many people aware of chiari because of my toes and fingers

  There is the 5th annual Walk for Chiari this Sat.....our color is purple, and yeah we share it with other conditions but we have a zipper added to our ribbon......

  I always ask in a prayer thread we all wear purple for the member having surgery, to show awareness for chiari and show support for the person having surgery...if we wear purple enuff  we may get asked y?

Alzheimer's, add, chrones, Cystic fibrosis, eating disorders, epilepsy, fibro, lupus, some cancers, sarcoidosis, pulmonary are just a few there is a lot if you google purple ribbon you will find a list:)

have had my toes done purple for a long time now, I dont wear it on my fingers...I wear it off too fast!  My girls are great at coming up with new designs for them.  I have to try to find the OPI color, my small town doesnt seem to carry it - guess I'll order it.   I had my ribbon on Friday and was at the bank. ONe of the bankers greeted me (she was wearing a purple blouse) and asked me if my ribbon was for suicide prevention?  I blankly stared at her for a moment and stated no, it was for chiari - a neurological disorder....which she returned with a dazed stare and finally said Oh, have a nice day.  Does everything fall under the "purple" awareness color?
