My Grandaughter spent the weekend with us and was up earlier than me in the morning. When I got out of bed abt a half hour later I heard her say to my husband very excitedly "Grandma's up! I hear her cracking"! I am only 55 and have ankylosing spondylitis as well as moderate to severe osteoarthritis. But out of the mouths of babes LOL!
I have been experiencing this for the last two weeks. It's unnerving!
I also have pain and snapping or cracking in my shoulder and knees and ankles and toes....it's like being a box of Rice Krispy cereal ....snap crackle and pop...lol!!!
I used to have this before surgery (decompression plus fusion skull to c2). Post op, I haven't had 1 noise!
Hi there,
I also have this too. I explain it as 'clicky, cracky, crunching'. I would say that every joint in my body is affected, but they never seem to believe me. I get the sounds and feelings every time i move my neck but my shoulder is the worst at the moment with severe pain when moving it....or sometimes not even moving it. I am waiting to see a RH. I believe the problem is the soft tissue, but i will wait to see what this rh says when i do see him / her.
I think you should tell your specialist and keep telling them because if you stop telling them they will think it's gone away. Good luck
I have the cracking too... and im only 22 so have a hard time attributing it to arthritis or nonrelated joint problems. my shoulder crunches and cracks too!
My NS told me the squishing was probably fluid build up just after surgery, but over a year later I still have it.
I told my NL the same cracking. And he fluffed me off with, "Oh, it's probably just arthritis "! Got a luv those brush offs!!
I have this also, even after 2 surgeries and I wasn't told I have cranial instability?! So not sure what mines from. I do have basilar invagination tho
With me this was attributed to DDD in the c-spine. I believe this is perhaps another issue that seems to follow at least some of us with CM.
Yes, minus the squishing. I was going to ask my NS about it when I see him in a couple wks.
