does chiari malformation come back after surgery
i had surgery in 2004 for chiari malformation ,i had that feeling when i went to nursing school it happened in half of the training and i stopped the class and got the surgery now i thought i felt ok and went back to the school again after i tool the class for 6 months i feel something related to the feeling i had at that time do you think chiari malformation could come back after surgery and do u think the school stress aggravate the problem

  Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

Chiari never goes away, u will always have it, surgery is to slow progression and restore CSF flow...and hopefully reduce symptoms.

It is very possible u have some symptoms due to going to school the stress of it or over time u had scar tissue develop that may be impeding CSF flow again.....

Also there r related conditions, so not knowing what u have been doing since surgery and going back to school, it could be it is just more then u r use to, or  there is an underlying issue.

I would suggest u get a MRI....when was ur last one?
