I too do not have a small noseN lol I do have problems with one side and always seeming like it is plugged but I have seen an ENT and he says I am all good. Not sure if my nasal passages are small or not. No one ever said they were. I had so many problems with infections and so forth that is why mine came out at such an early age. All this is very interesting. I would like to see if there is a connection.
I wonder if ur nasal passages r smaller tho???Do u know?

WELL,...lol....I have a big Snoz however I do have a lot of sinus problems and can barely breath out of my nose at all. I had chronic tonsil infections until I was 15 and Finally they decided Oh... maybe if we take them out she will get better....Ya think?? From the outside you would think I should be able to smell a mile away from the size of this thing, but actually It's all for show I guess because It definitely doesn't work like it should :)
Yeah,i have a small nose too, lol.... I wonder
The connection as I see it is this way and I could be way off base...but, chiari malformation is the malformation of our skull....it is too small, so it forces the cerebral tonsils out onto the brain stem. What if what ever caused the skull to be too small, also caused our nasal passages to be too small as well?
My PCP asked me if I had a nose job bcuz my nose is very small?????I was confused by this, but the more I think about it, I wonder if it has nething to do with the other tonsils.....we all have sinus issues, ear issues...so y not?It could be affected.....
As I said I was 7 when I had both my tonsils and adenoids removed...no bleeding issues or disorders for me either.
I just wish I got these replies when I asked the first time...lol....

I had mine removed when I was 13 due to chronic infections and soreness.
I am also a mouth breather and had my tonsils and adenoids removed when I was 15....Sounds like we may be on to something here!! I do not have any blood/bleeding disorders though.
I don't know how it would be related, maybe squishing and pressure and not enough space causes then to hang lower or enlarge just like the cerebellar tonsils? I am kinda amazed that we already have had a few say they have that problem too though, maybe there is a correlation.... I had my tonsils removed when I was 5 and, I also have a bleeding disorder, but I'm just hypercoaguable, so u get blood clots easier, maybe a genetic link?

I have always been a mouth breather. i had my tonsils removed at 4 years old. They tried to get my adenoids but because of my bleeding disorder (VonWillebrands) they had to stop because of the bleeding.
My question is..... why would there be any corrilation between the two?
also Von Willebrands has to do with a lack in my Factor 8 levels which means I bleed and bruise easy and I do not heal well at all. For instanse I was playing with the dog and one of his nails scrathched me on the upper arm. That was almost 6 months ago and I still have the mark. It wasnt deep. Just takes me a long time. Do you think that the disorder could also play a part in some of my issues?
I had a feeling...and I feel there r more of us out there......
....so r u?...a mouth breather too???
Yeah,i wonder....thank you for always responding
Hi Jen...I was wondering about this very thing, and when I was a newbie to this forum I asked a questions that did not get answered...
How many chiarians or those with a syrinx are mouth breathers?...I am and as a result, I too had my tonsils and adenoids removed at age 7...I am still a mouth breather, but since my decompression I can more comfortably breathe thru my nasal passages, but I am a mouth breather by habit now : )
I wonder if there is a relationship since this can indeed affect sleep apnea issues......
