I was just diagnosed 2 months ago with chiari and I am 31. I "had" to have a hysterectomy at 26 because my periods were so bad and they couldn't figure out why. Kind of makes me wonder............

Hmmmm....very interesting.  I just had a uterine biopsy done today to check for endometrial cancer (symptoms-heavy bleeding, cramping all month, 20-40day cycles, u/s showed a mildly enlarged uterus)...Ovaries seem normal and those would control hormone levels, but certainly all very interesting!!!!!

And, after 15months of solid visual disturbances, mirgraine is still brought up to me too many times to count from various NL's.

I have been wondering the exact same thing. It is starting to look like every problem I have can be linked to Chiari, If only a Dr. would make this connection. I'm scared to mention the hormonal imbalance to my Dr. because when I mentioned this to the NL he took it as a way to blame everything on Migraine. He said it was menstrual Migraines I was having yada yada yada.... When I had my labs checked they looked fine but my Gyno. said it is very hard to find an imbalance because the range is so broad.
I just know a week before my cycle all of my symptoms intensify especially the brain fog. It's not just PMS it's debilitating. I have about one week out of the month that I don't feel like complete and utter crap!!

I believe so only because I thought all of my headaches and issues were hormone related because they always got bad during my cycle and I also had cysts! My cycles were always super long and then I tried metformin which really helped.  I notice that even after surgery I am having bigger headaches during cycle wish there was more definitive answers on this.  Good luck!
