head is numb and COLD when I wake up?!

I've been experiencing this for a while now, but it used to happen sporadically (maybe twice a month) and now it's happening almost every morning.  My head -- especially the top and back -- feels tingly and cold.  The cold is something I don't know how to explain.  It's not cold to the touch, it just feels cold ... like from the inside? kind of how hands and feet sometimes do in the winter?  has anyone ever had this happen? should I be concerned?

for some back history ... my herniation is 8mm on one side and 11 on the other. I'm putting off surgery as long as possible and taking tramadol for pain.

Hi....many of us deal with many diff symptoms and depending on which nerves may be affected that will determine which sensations u will experience.

Have u had a MRI recently?.....with new symptoms it could mean changes to ur condition.

Hi Selma,

unfortunately I don't think my insurance will cover any more MRIs this year/ but I might double check.  I considered that maybe my herniation has gotten worse but then wouldn't I have this symptom 24/7? or no? it's so confusing.  I have numbless in my arms / hands / feet that is random and I guess when it's constant THEN I'm in big trouble?! I am going to make another appointment with my NS but the tingy / cold head has to be the creepiest feeling I've experienced thus far.

Not necessarily...chiari symptoms cycle...new ones included.
There r times u can be in a flare and they last longer ...but, that is y detecting something more is going on prior to a chiari dx and even still with one.

Symptoms do last longer periods as things progress....

If u do not have a chiari specialist u may want to find one to see what is going on.
