The lying flat is something to do when u believe u have a CSF leak, which I believe u felt u might have.
When u have an epidural, u should lie flat for an hour b4 u move......
so, if u feel u have a CSF leak, u would want to rest and lie flat, drink plenty of H2O and even some caffine products.All these can help the leak seal naturally.
If it doesn't a bloodpatch would be the next thing that is tried.
Surgery to correct a leak is generally a last resort.
I don't remember ever having to lay flat, what kind of surgery?
I was not allowed to lay flat untill 2 weeks after surgery but I also was not allowed to go over a certain elevation either I am 2 months out of sugery and still get preaty severe headaches but not as often as before surgery
