Hi...I just read you are having a 2nd decompression along with a dura plasty....do you know what type of patch and if they will harvest tissue from you, if so what area they will take it from?

Since your first surgery failed, you are having another one, so this means you had a cerebral ptosis (brain slump) and why they need to go back in.....so recovery will be the same....

Have they ruled out if you have EDS?

Hi...a dura plasty is the placement of a dura patch once the dura is opened during a decompression surgery.....if you had decompression surgery already you may be going in for just the dura plasty to make more room, which is why it is done....and it also helps the Dr see what all is going on inside with the dura open.

Depending on what all needs to be done, your recovery could be like it was after decompression...it may be less time....
