Hello and Welcome
As pointed out above there are a few causes of chest pain that have different sources but seem to be related to Chiari. For myself, the chest pain (spread from my breast bone through to my back and down my arm) was one of the first symptoms that I really had issues with. In fact, I had that pain in my breastbone probably 15 years b4 I had Chiari symptoms. My Dr`s first said it was anxiety, then GERD and then they were worried about my heard and sent me for a stress test which turned out fine. I have also been told by others that if you are hypo-thryroid (which I am) it can also cause that chest pain along with this feeling of constriction, like rubbers bands are tightening around my chest.
So as you can see...I would definitely be making a trip to your GP and making sure that you rule out any other causes.
Take care
Carolyn
Any Chest pain needs to be reported to your family Doctor to rule out any cardiac problems.
As Selma has pointed out there are related conditions that can cause Chest pain, because CM can involves the spinal cord it is plausible that your Chest pain is nerve related.
A call to your GP, NL or NS would be wise :)
Keep us posted.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
Many with Chiari r prone to have acid reflux/GERD issues...so heart burn is not uncommon...do u know if u have ne of these issues?.....
There is also Costochondritis (kos-toe-KHON-dri-tis) is an inflammation of the cartilage that connects a rib to the breastbone (sternum). It causes sharp pain in the costosternal joint — where your ribs and breastbone are joined by rubbery cartilage. Pain caused by costochondritis may mimic that of a heart attack or other heart conditions.
I know several chiarians that have been dx'd with this as well.....
