Hey Molly...well he is the best one to say what u need and for how long.....he knows exactly what he did inside u......some of us require a bit more work than others.

Don't worry about how long....but how well u r doing.

I'm a couple years post op but still having bad headaches, my Dr. gives me an RX for pain medication I can inject myself with at home. If that doesn't work I have a wonderful Dr. who, under the direction of my surgeon, will give me a variation of shots.

Hi Molly,

I have to agree with Wolf, that we r all different.....so far u have 2 diff andswers and if 50 people respond u will have 50 diff answers.

U need to talk with ur dr....if u r in that much pain, then the meds r not working....if they r, mayb it is time to slowly wean off them.I cut back what I was taking while in the Hospital....I was in 5 days......and continued to wean off once I came home....inserting the use of tylenol for one of my doses......used the stronger meds at night to sleep.

See what ur dr thinks

Every person is different. Everyone deals with pain differently as well.

I was in the hospital for 2 1/2 days. After leaving the hospital I needed pain
meds for the next two days. Other tylenol for a slight fever I've needed nothing
else since then.

I do however use heat/ice and rest. For me it's been 5 weeks and 4 days.

Perhaps because your doctor knows your situation better than anyone here
an open honest talk with him/her may be order. Just be open and totally honest
about what you are doing at home so he can get the full picture.

I was on Norco for about 10 days after getting home, but they made me so sick I had to switch ti Tylenol 8 hour, I took those for 10-14 days then switched to advil, I don't remeber how often, I want to say total med's were until about six weeks after surgery.

I hope you feel better soon!
