Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

May I ask, was this Dr a Chiari specialist?
I found this page researching signal void and Chiari trying to understand my dr. report. How can I join this community. I believe it will be helpful as I am just beginning to research and understand my condition and related issues.
Have u looked at our list of Drs to help u get started with ur research?

Thank you so much. Looking into trying to find a chiari specialist
No worries, but having the right Dr is key....make sure they check u for all related conditions as they can affect how u feel and heal when u have surgery...
Just know u r not alone, we r here : )
Thank you Selma. I have two Mri's one confirming Chiari and the second was a pituitary study so i just tried to remember what they both said so i sure i wrote it wrong lol. I am overwhelmed with all of this
Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
I am not sure if the wording u used is from a report or ur Dr, but it does not make me feel they r Chiari specialists....as the 7.5 - 8mm herniation of the cerebral tonsils does not always mean Chiari malformation...it is the malformation of the skull which forces the tonsils to herniate.....so the statement protrusion of CM and low lying tonsils r both referring to the tonsils...none mention the skull....or if it is congenital or acquired.
Since they feel there is a flow related issue a CINE MRI would be a good idea as well as a MRI of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine to rule out related conditions and other testing for related issues- syringomyelia, disk issues, tethered cord, ICP, POTS, ehlers-danlos, sleep apnea.
There r quite a few with pituitary issues since the over crowding can put pressure on the pituitary gland....
It is the CSF flow that we have surgery for to restore flow, it can cause many of the symptoms we deal with so it is an important part of this report.
