They used the tens unit on my neck and shoulders in therapy. It hurt me. They tried it on different levels and no matter how low or high it waas painful. I tried it a few times just to see but then i finally told them to stop using it.

I received them when I went to visit the pain clinic.  They are not as painful as what we have gone through already.  It does happen quite fast.  If you can handle brain surgery the injections are easy.  As for me they didnt work at all.  Sad to say, but everything is worth a try.  It might help for you.  What helped for me is the TENS unit.  It keeps the swelling in my muscle in the back of the neck down, and I now can think staight.  Wish you the best in  your results. Let us know.  Hoping they are the answer for you.

I've had them for cervical and lumbar. Cervical was totally useless didn't do squat. Lumbar was very short lived but did provide minimal relief.

Just had one done yesterday actually. Think it will be my last until this NL visit on the 30th as I'm not sure that its really worth it for me.

What you have to keep in mind which I didn't realize until my pain dr explained it ids a nerve block is more diagnostic than treatment. The whole point is to see if putting your occipital nerves to sleep stops your pain if it does then they can dx you with occipital neuralgia if not you move on. People that get relief have relief from the steroid that is injected at same time. For me when they were blocked I had no pain but when aesthetic wore off pain  it was back. That is why they say next step is stimulator it is a treatment option. Hope that helps and good luck!

I've had them....4 of them, to be exact (all at the same time).  They gave me 36 wonderful pain free hours and, although they didn't end up being what I'd hoped for, they did allow me to see how I "used to feel" before I became symptomatic.  Getting them didn't hurt...in fact, when it was over I said, "are you gonna give them to me now?"  My husband was in the treatment room at the time and could not believe that I didn't bat an eyelash at the shots....I remember I said to him, "That was nothing compared to the headache pain!"  I hope yours lasts longer....remember, everyone is different and what happened for me may not necessarily happen for you....you may get much longer results.
