We all have DDD, that is something everyone has it is the degree it may be affecting and ur age that would be of concern as it is not a real disease, but a natural break down from wear and tear of the disks.
No my surgery did not help my disks, it helped the symptoms that were plaguing me....and if I had focused on just the disks, I do not think I would feel as good as I do.
I have a journal of my surgical experience in my profile page, u can feel free to read, but I had all the symptoms that most Chiarians have, HA's, vertigo, numbness, vision issues, memory and cognitive issues, upper body weakness....constant fatigue....the list is longer then my memory of them....lol...
Did u get copies of ur MRI's and the reports? If not, call the facility where u had ur previous MRI's and say u need them for comparison....going forward when u sign in b4 a test or MRI always tell them u want copies of both the test and the report.
Selma, I'm seeing an NS in 2 weeks. I met with 1 4yrs ago whom told me he felt I hadn't suffered enough and I should just learn to live with it. Well I've tried, & can't do it any more! So I've found a chiari specialist & that's where I'm going. Any way, I am ?? about and the obstruction flow and bulging discs you mentioned.... I've had a million mri's but no cine-mri. and I have degenerative disc disease in c-spine and most recent mri states progressiveness in area. U mentioned ur surg helped ur bulging discs... what symptoms were u having (other than drop attacks)
Not necessarily....I did not have a syrinx, but I did have a CSF obstruction that lead to me having drop attacks.....
I also have bulging disks and one Dr said that was my issue...but, I had sooooooo many positive effects from the surgery, I would not have had if I just looked at my disks....
Keep getting more testing and see what ur Dr suggests next and u may want a 2nd opinion.
