Congrats from my side to and yes i did experience a lot of numbness.my whole left side plus the teeth flesh!
CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS !!! so glad the Dr. is already discussing the c-section with you. I had an emergency c-section with my first, but then was told I could deliver the next 3 normally. I had such a hard time with the natural births, now knowing it was chiari complications. And knowing much more about births now I realize all of mine should have been c-sections. Read the book and do your homework so you'll be prepared.
Enjoy this little blessing!

If you goto my page and look in my posts, I believe that I posted a question called head numb a while back. THere were plenty of responses. I also have the visual disturbances you mention as well.
Hi...as I mentioned b4 I went to TCI as well, but the NS u r going to see came just as I was having surgery and was settling in, I got a letter from him, but that was the extent of it.
Also, just so u can see just how many have dealt with numbness, use the search this community feature with the word numbness...u will see just how many have asked this question.

We all have different symptoms (and share some) a lot of us post in our profile and journal what is going on:) feel free to snoop
Congratulations on the baby and I am glad to hear they are advising you to have a c secion. There is a book on chiari and pregnancy written by Diane Mueller. She works with my neurosurgeon Dr Oro. Facial numbness on 1 side absolutely can be from chiari. Every time I see Dr Oro he actually brushes both sides of my face with his fingers and asks if it feels the same so it is actually something they look for. Welcome to our group...sorry ou had to find us.
I as well experience numbness in the back of my head andup toward the top and ears. It is the weirdest feeling if you ask me. I also from time to time experience numness or a pullingin my face around my mouth and cheeks. Sorry to hear that you are having a rough time.
On another note: CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!
Babies are so exciting. I can only imagine how it frightens you though. I didn't find out about my Chiari until after my daughter was born. She was my third and final child, and doctors tend to think that my three natural births sort of triggered my symptoms.
I do not know anything about the doctor that you are seeing except that the institute is highly reccomened and they are the best.
BEst of luck to you honey !!! Feel free to add me as a friend ....I as well have a 7 year old son :)
