Hi....I am not sure, but it could be we r not as active with the fact it  hurts to be active.

One reason I asked if u had a weight change, is bcuz ne change in weight can affect GERD and it can also cause a change to ur CSF and  the  amount that is produced.

So u could be dealing with a condition referred to IIH...or intercranial hypertension....also known as pusedotumor cerebri.

water on the brain is hydrocephalus...syringomyelia is a cyst that fills with CSF

Hydrocephalus can cause a syrinx to form (syringomyelia) and can force the tonsils into a herniated state.

A shunt is sometimes used to help divert the excess fluid....this helps with the pressure and sometimes allows the tonsils to retract.

Ur symptoms will determine if ur drs need to address this as is the possibility of the syrinx putting pressure on ur nerves.

Survival with a syrinx has not been an issue.....sometimes it is the outcome of surgery that is the issue...but as with ne health issue there r no guarantees as to how u will feel.

Were u told this is a congential issue?....do u have a weight issue? or a recent change in ur weight?

Hi...I am  not sure if u an go somewhere else to consult with a chiari specialist.....if u can not, how much experience do ur drs have with chiari.

What r ur symptoms besides headaches?

Did they check to see if u have a CSF blockage and /or overcrowding?

Chiari can progress...it can stay the same...u must look at how the condition is affecting u and ur quality of life.

Once u have a dr u feel knows chiari and u r comfortable with...he/she should be able to tell u what benefits surgery can give u.

Most chiari drs will not operate unless the benefits out weight the risks.
I hope this helps : )
