I have that same issue and I had surgery a year ago. My doctor explained to me that in order to have CM surgery they have to move a muscle back there that is a size of a dime or a quarter. It take's a long time for that muscle to remember where it should be (They say muscles have memories) and right now all it can remember is it is in pain. Pt helped me with this. I did have 2 CSF leak's and they do feel different. At least for me it did. Where the dr took the bone out it felt like a balloon because it filled with spinal fluid. So when I felt the lump in the back of my neck I was just as scared as you are. Just keep an eye on it. You should be able to tell the difference because with CSF leak I did have the pressure headache back. If you do get worried. I would call my dr. and they would get me in the same day because it is something to worry about. Most important. Don't try lifting, bending, pulling, pushing anything. Let your body heal. I learned the rough way and didn't listen to my doctor or my body and I suffered for it. Just rest and that muscle back there will start to get the message to relax also. I actually just had pain (steroid) injection's in the back of my head because I think it is the nerve ending. Having Chairi surgery is a serious surgery, and we expect our bodies to be normal right after surgery. It doesn't work that way. The word here is Patient's. with your self and your body. Lay back and let it heal. Your in my prayer's.
