problems with S.S/disability suggestions

I was approved for Social Security 3 yrs. ago.  It was a long process (years).   I don't wish it upon anyone, as well as Chiari.  However, if anyone going through the disability process, I would first make sure that you really need and want it, because once youre approved, it's permanent.  You must take an inventory of your entire life and write down any symptoms that have disrupted your daily tasks, and especially those that have affected all of your jobs (including examples).  This may take a lot of time, even years, but it is neccesary not just for S.S., but for you also.  You will probably get denied the first time, but keep trying if you know this is for the best.  If you have to reapply, do not hesitate to leave out any ways that this may have led to depression, including specific examples, especially effecting work.  Lastly, if you are approved for S.S., it is helpful to make yourself your own job by helping others on your own time, in your own special way

I wish I could work and get better. Everytime I get through a surgery another one or two are added.  This has been going on for 10 years. I babysit inbetween surgeries and am able to earn up to $900/month legally in addition to S.S. without any S.S. cutbacks, although I have not been well enough between surgeries to earn that much.  I do get by financially just fine, it's just that without this disability I would contribute much more to our society

usually SSD is permanet but have known some that are able to take jobs and SSD is cut back . So if  you get better and you can go back to work that is wonderful.

Yeah, I'm in the process. Guess we'll see how it goes.
