It is very possible and it seems to be the luck we have as Chiarians...to get hit with more then just Chiari.

The thing is, the Dr u r seeing for the seizures is not well informed on Chiari...so they will not know that it is possible.

Just as many Chiari specialists have a very limited symptoms list, but here on MedHelp we have a Unofficial list that is more like a manifesto..

  Hi...welcome back...sorry u r still having issues post op.

And u r right....many with seizures pre op have experienced a change.....some have had an increase in seizures and some a decrease.

And we have had a few that did not have seizure activity b4 surgery, but developed it post op.

I feel there is some connection....many yrs ago long b4 I got my Chiari DX I was tested for seizures with an EEG....nothing was found on it....

With that said I know it doesn't explain much...but I feel there is a connection...many have had issues with the pituitary gland and could be the reason for the seizures...and we have had a few that were DX'd with epilepsy post op.

I am interested to hear the results of ur EEG....

Good luck Tuesday
