should i have full spine mri to rule out syrinx below the cerical region?

i just had new mri results come in. the mri was of the brain and of course very little of the cervical cord. it said no evidence of syrinx in that region.. my ? is when i go to my NS chiari specialist oct 11th should i have them do a full spine mri to look for syrinx further down? or because there isnt 1 in the cervical cord do i not have 1 lower?

I was just thinking the same things. I will make sure to bring this up to my NS if he doesn't do it himself.

  Hi, if ur Dr is a chiari specialist they will most likely want those if u have not had them done already.

U need to rule out not only a syrinx in the thoracic and lumbar spine, but disk issues and tethered cord...and neuro testing to see if u possibly have ehlers-danlos.

  Again, a chiari specialist will want these...so u should not have to ask, but if it is not mentioned u may want to ask y.
