steroid treatment helpful?

So the NL wanted to break the "cycle" of my headache so she sent me for a Decadron infussion and then started me on them orally the following day. That was 2 days ago. Today my numbness/tingling is barely noticeable at all which is crazy for me since typically it is severe. No I have not had a Cine MRI and I was only told that I do not have a syrnix in my cervical spine but do not know about lower regions as no one will order another MRI. I am at the mercy of these dipshits in Montana currently. Anyhow, I was curious if anyone else ever had any experience like this with steroid treatment? Of course its not doing anything for my headache, so much for her brilliant idea! ;)

I recently had poison ivy, took prednisone, and noticed that i felt much better.   The 10 day dose I've taken previously was horrible, but the 5 day dose had no side effects.  Now I'm starting to itch again though....

I wonder why we're all so inflamed; it's being blamed for everything.

I'm currently on my second round of steroid treatment therapy.  But it was done primarily for hearing loss.

The first round was in Feb.  I receieved two injections directly into my ears, then was on 2 weeks of prednisone.  It did nothing for my headache then, and my hearing did not return either.

My second round started last Monday.  I was admitted into the hospital for infusion, 2 days of 325 mg solumedrol and 3 days of 1000 mg solumedrol.  I was then discharged on another 4 week oral schedule of prednisone of which I'm on week one, 60 mg/day.

This second time, the infusion saved my right ear.  Or seems to have, so far.  It has done nothing for the headache though.  After my first Abomb (1000 mg dose), my headache initially did ease up, but not go away.  However, it hasn't eased up at all since that one time.

I hate steroids. I hate the way the make me feel, but if it keeps the hearing in my right ear I'm not going to complain too much.  (I lost the hearing in the left ear in December)...

Good luck!
